Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 am–9 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Allamatic Transmissions at (321) 327-5193; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Melbourne is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Melbourne follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This guy really knows his stuff. He called me and he explained all of the details as he was very thorough and put things into terms where I was able to understand. Got my truck running like a charm again! Thanks so much for getting me back on the road.

Not pleased. I should have done more research but I was in a time of need given my Nissan CVT transmission started showing signs of decline. The fastest part of the transaction was how quickly Allamatic could take the keys. Three days later a diagnosis with no price or time quote. I initiated all communications about expectations of completion, sometimes with a response of "I'm not sure" from the staff. Once quoted was given several escalating options with a promise of longevity with the highest price. Got the car back three weeks and two rental cars later, paid 25% more than quote due to unexpected circumstances--and cash only of course. And now the car makes a noise while driving which the staff denied or said "Nothing to be concerned about" with no offer for the mechanic to take another look. It's hard to trust mechanics to begin with, and my experience with Allamatic just made it worse for me. I wanted to trust Allamatic and support the small shop. Do your research, or go to the dealer... pay more but get driving again quickly.

Phil is the consummate professional, a master of his craft, and a great human being. After my terrible experience with other providers, Phil took the time to help me fix a transmission problem that had my vehicle inoperable, and made it work again . . . over the phone!!! Without even seeing the van, he spent the time, demonstrated patience, was genuine, gracious, and got it done. He asked for nothing in return. He's so good, he didn't even need to be in the same room to fix a transmission problem! Talk to Phil yourself, you'll see what I mean.

Phil is amazing, he is one of the most honest and reasonable transmission diagnostitians I have ever met. He treated my mother-in-law's Nissan Versa as if it were his own, very carefully and thoroughly finding the issue with the transmission. While many shops would have tried to sell you a new or rebuilt transmission, Phil discovered that the metal lines that are used to move transmission fluid through the radiator for cooling were the culprit. He replaced them and the lost fluid, tested the car and returned it to us for a great price. This man is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to transmissions. Highly recommend his shop and his work.

We dropped off our van for a transmission rebuild and told they would get right on it. Well right on it was 3 weeks later if I had known that I would have simply had my husband order a reman unit and install it he could have had it back on the road within a day of receiving the unit. Skip past that finally got the van back and on the road but had an issue 2 months later now mind you they try to sell you on the warranty standard is 12 month 20k miles dont pay for anything else cause they wont stand behind the basic warranty. The trans threw a solenoid code which is weird cause it was just rebuilt with about 4k miles on it to be throwing a code. It was a simple fix drop the pan put the solenoid in a new one from Mopar was 44 bucks. The fact they said to drop it off and we will take a look we made the special trip down there and no one was at the business text they said just leave the key in the van and they will get to it no problem fine did that left. Didnt hear anything tried to text and nothing come about 4pm we drove back down there mind you this is a 45 min drive each time to find the van was never looked at never even moved and I never have gotten an response back from th
